BioSense Limited are an MPI approved laboratory to undertake diagnostic testing for Phytophthora agathidicida.

BioSense offer comprehensive Phytophthora risk management plans to ensure compliance with the National Pest Management Plan. Our team specialises in identifying, assessing, and managing the risk associated with Phytophthora, providing tailored solutions. 

We conduct small and large scale research projects aimed at providing management tools and actions to mitigate the risk and impacts of unwanted organisms.

We have designed and lead small to large scale kauri dieback surveillance. Surveying over 90,000 kauri and counting. 

Phosphite is a notable tool used in the treatment of kauri trees infected with Phytophthora agathidicida. To date BioSense has treated and assessed over 17,500 kauri trees. 

BioSense delivers a 3-day training program to participants working in and around kauri forests. Targeting kauri survey techniques, hygiene, and assessing and mitigating phytophthora risk.
